Group Rides

One Trikke on the road may seem like a novelty in New England, but as more New Englanders discover the unique ride a Trikke offers it is become a movement. As you ride with others in the New England Trikke riding community you will become a better rider as you and your riding peers discover and share better riding techniques together.
Sunday Trikkers April thru October 2-5pm
Every Sunday from 2 till 5 through October. As long as it is not raining and the trail is dry, you can find local North Shore Trikkers out for a Sunday afternoon Trikke ride at one of various locations along the North Shore of Massachusetts. This is a great opportunity introduce Trikke riding to those unfamiliar with the activity. Just send Kenny Mayne a message to reserve a Trikke for a demo lesson if you want to bring a friend!
Sites we Trikke:
Peabody Independence Greenway (March through Early June). We start at Lt Ross Park and ride to Middleton and back, a leisurely 4 mile loop. Sometimes we change it up and add the eastern segment of the trail doing a second loop to North Shore Mall and back.
Newburyport and Salisbury Bike Trails (Late June through early September). Cashman Park is where we will meet. Park by the soccer field or in the western most lot along the water (it is OK to park in these western spots without a boat trailer, even though the signs say otherwise)
Nahant Causeway and Lynn Beachfront (Late September through October). We are saving this for fall rides as the beach trails are too crowded on Sunday's in the summer. We are still figuring out the best meeting place, check back for specifics any day we ride here.
Group rides with New England Trikkers
We say “Trikkahs” but we rockke just the same!
New England Trikkers exists to help connect New Englanders who love to Trikke. While we live spread across six distinct states, New Englanders share a regional bond that flows across state borders like no other group of neighboring American States. Maybe it is because we have some of the smallest states in the Union. Perhaps it is because we share a picturesque scene of rolling hills, autumn colors, and the white steeples of the village churches. Or maybe it is because we share a common undying faith in the Red Sox and Patriots. Whatever the reason New England Trikkers are growing in numbers and regularly crossing state lines to get together for group Trikke rides.
North Shore Trikke will lead off by organizing group rides, weather permitting, every other Saturday beginning May 1, 2010 setting out to visit various trails from Southern New Hampshire to Cape Cod. However any motivated New England resident Trikke rider is invited to organize rides throughout New England using the New England Trikkers Facebook page and/or TrikkeTalk.
Currently we try to meet every two to three weeks at the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. The place to meet is the Byam School, 25 Maple in Chelsmford. Alternate locations may also include the Nashua River Rail Trail, the Assabet River Rail Trail and others.
So how do you connect up with or schedule your own group rides?
Well in this cyber world of hyper commuications there are so many places to list events and no one place communicates to all interested parties. Anything facilitated through North Shore Trikke you can find exclusively listed in the schedule below and on the North Shore Trikke Facebook Page. North Shore Trikke along with any other New England Trikke riders organizing group rides will be published as well on Trikke Talk, the New England Trikkers Facebook Group and the New England Trikkers blog.
